What this is

EdTechCore is an independent, non-commercial project, still being built and tested. It is offered by invitation, free of charge, and it is not run by a registered company. Using it is voluntary, and these terms are the basis on which it is offered. If the project ever becomes a commercial service, a company will be formed and these terms will be replaced by ones that name it - with notice, before anything is charged.

Accounts

Accounts are created by invitation: a school invites its teachers, a teacher invites their students. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it. What is done through your account is your responsibility. An account can be suspended if it is used to break these terms or the law. Using EdTechCore needs a current browser with JavaScript turned on and cookies allowed for signing in.

Agreeing to the data part

Creating an account from an invitation, and sending the site's request form, both ask you to agree that what you enter is processed for that purpose. It is a separate tick, never filled in for you, and the form does not send without it. The moment you agree is recorded with your request or your account. The privacy notice says what is processed, on what basis, and how to withdraw a consent you gave.

What teachers and schools publish

Courses, lessons, tasks, files, messages and everything else on EdTechCore are created and published by the teachers and schools using it. That material is theirs, not ours. We do not write it or choose it, and we do not monitor it - so we do not answer for what it says, for whether it is accurate, or for whether whoever published it had the right to. The one exception is the public page a workspace shows the world: that is checked before it appears under this domain, and the next section says what the check does and does not mean. Responsibility for the material stays with the person or the school that put it there.

Who the teachers are

The teachers and schools on EdTechCore are independent. They are not our employees, our agents or our partners, and we do not select them. We do not check qualifications, diplomas, experience or references, and we do not supervise how anyone teaches. A lesson is an agreement between a student and the teacher or school giving it; we are not a party to it, and we do not answer for the quality of the teaching, for anyone's conduct, for a lesson that did not happen, or for money arranged outside the service. Before a public page appears under this domain we check the page itself: that it is filled in and fit to appear here. That is a check of a page, not of a person - approving one is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a statement that its author is qualified.

Reports and complaints

If material here infringes your rights or breaks the law, tell us and we will act. Write to admin@edtechcore.com in English, Polish or Ukrainian. Say what the material is, where it is and why it should not be there. We look at reports promptly and remove or block what has to go, and we tell both you and the person who published it what we decided and why. The same address takes any complaint about the service itself, and we answer it within 14 days.

What you may not do

Do not use EdTechCore to break the law, to publish material you have no right to publish, to harass anyone, to reach data that is not yours, to probe or overload the service, or to resell access to it. Do not upload malware. Do not collect other people's material automatically.

Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", while it is being built. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, no warranty is given that it will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors, that defects will be corrected, or that it will meet any particular need. It can be slow, it can be interrupted for maintenance, features can change or be withdrawn, and access can end - for one person or for everyone - with as much notice as the circumstances allow.

Your data, your copies

Backups are taken regularly and taken seriously, but they are not a guarantee, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law EdTechCore does not warrant that anything stored on it will be preserved, remain available, or remain beyond the reach of someone who should not have it. Hardware fails, software has defects, a deployment can go wrong and an attacker can get through. You are responsible for keeping your own copy of any material you cannot afford to lose, and for exporting what matters before you need it. EdTechCore uses what you store only to provide the service to you and to your school, as the privacy notice sets out - never for purposes of its own.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: EdTechCore is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement; neither the project nor the person running it is liable for the loss, corruption or unavailability of data, for unauthorised access to it or its disclosure as a result of an attack, a defect or an outage, or for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost income, lost profit, lost time and lost goodwill, arising from the use of the service or the inability to use it; and any liability that does remain is limited, in aggregate, to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you - in particular liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for fraud, the mandatory rights of consumers, and the right to compensation of a person whose data has been processed in breach of the GDPR (Article 82).

Money between a school and its students

Where a school uses EdTechCore to price lessons and bill its own students, that agreement is between the school and the student. EdTechCore records it and is not a party to it. Card details are handled by a payment provider on its own pages. A question about a price, an invoice or a refund goes to the school.

Ending it

You can stop using EdTechCore whenever you like and ask for your account to be deleted or erased. An account nothing else refers to is deleted outright; where a record must be kept by law - an invoice, a mark - the record stays and everything in the account that identifies you is removed, as the privacy notice explains. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we can end the service. What is meant to outlast the ending - the sections on published material, on your data and copies, and on liability - does.

Changes to these terms

These terms change as the product does, and the date at the top moves when they do. A change that matters is sent by email to everyone with an account at least 14 days before it applies; if you do not accept it, stop using the service and ask for your account to be deleted before then.

Law and disputes

Which country's law applies and which courts may hear a dispute follow from where you live and from the mandatory rules that protect consumers; this page does not try to change either. Nothing here removes a right you hold under the law of your own country.

The limits of this page

These terms are written to be read, not to sound impressive, and they are not legal advice. If one clause turns out to be unenforceable in whole or in part, it applies to the extent it can and the rest still stand. These terms, together with the privacy notice and the cookie policy, are the whole agreement on which the service is offered.
